Our Story

We design spaces to reflect your style & Personality

Our Design Philosophy

At MW Designs, our design philosophy is rooted in the belief that your space should reflect your personal story and bring you joy.

We embrace the power of surrounding ourselves with things we love, knowing that it transforms a house into a true home.

Meet Michelle

Owner + Designer

Michelle, now based in Germany, is the founder and creative director of MW Designs. Her love for design dates back to her childhood when she received her first hope chest from her parents, and since then, she has been curating a collection of unique pieces that resonate with her. Having lived in different places throughout her life, Michelle documented each home’s design process on social media to inspire others to create their own happy place, regardless of their location. In 2019, she turned her passion into a business, and MW Designs was born.

Michelle’s design philosophy is simple: surround yourself with the things you love, and your space will reflect your personality and bring you happiness. As a designer, Michelle is known for creating sophisticated and collected spaces with lots of texture. Her designs blend old and new items with traditional and modern aesthetics, resulting in a unique and personalized feel for each room. Her work has been recognized in The Cottage Journal, Washingtonian, and BlackRock Galleries, among others.

When Michelle isn’t designing, she’s exploring Germany, visiting markets & thrifting, trying out all the amazing cafes, and spending time with her husband, 16-year-old son, and 5-year-old daughter. She approaches life with a sense of adventure and a desire to make the most of every moment. Let Michelle help you create a space that truly reflects your style and makes you feel happy and inspired.

🎄 Christmas Memories 🎄 As the holiday season appr 🎄 Christmas Memories 🎄

As the holiday season approaches, I love looking back at all the special moments from Christmases past. From family traditions to joyful gatherings, these pictures remind me of the magic and warmth of the season.

I’m a little later than usual pulling out my decorations this year, but the decorating should begin soon! I’ll be sharing photos of my progress shortly. #europeanantiques #interiordesign #christmastreedecorating #christmastree #christmas2025 #holidayseason #christmasdecor #tistheseason🎄
Every piece tells a story, sometimes it starts on Every piece tells a story, sometimes it starts on a cobblestone street.
For me, inspiration comes from slow strolls through old European towns, the scent of espresso from a local cafe, or when I stumble upon an antique painting tucked away in a pile.
It’s in those quiet moments, hearing church bells outside your window, pausing in the afternoon for coffee or tea, surrounding yourself with the pieces that truly speak to you, that European living comes to life.
You don’t have to cross the ocean to bring that cozy soulful feeling to home. It’s how you collect, how you savor, and how you live . slowly.#interiordesign #antiques #makehomematter #europeanantiques #edesign #homedecor #vintage #thelittlethings #germany #soulfulhouse

The roses in my garden come from the owner’s great-grandfather, and the beautiful tiles in the entryway were made in a Stuttgart factory nearly 100 years ago. They really add to the home’s soul. Every little treasure I’ve found here brings me so much joy and makes this place feel even more special!
I’m currently working on a new project and will be sharing sneak peeks tomorrow! Follow along for all the details. #interiordesign #antiques #makehomematter #europeanantiques #edesign #homedecor #vintage #thelittlethings #garden #germany

These aren’t just design choices; they create a sense of belonging. You don’t need to live in Europe to enjoy this vibe. It starts with one special piece, a moment of calm, and a cozy corner where you can unwind.

My 1927 German home might not be perfect, but it’s bursting with charming quirks and wonderful history that I truly love.

Those amazing old doors, the creaky steps, and beautiful floors, along with all my little treasures, constantly remind me to pause and appreciate the moment.
