Welcome to my European Vintage Christmas home tour here in beautiful Germany! I’m Kristen, and as a military wife whose family has moved eight times over the years, creating a sense of home has become incredibly important to me. No matter where we are stationed, I’ve learned that family traditions, cozy touches, and meaningful details can make any house feel welcoming.

This year, I’m excited to invite you in and share how I’ve blended vintage charm with European Christmas style to create a warm, festive, and inviting home for the holidays.

Entryway
Living in Germany has given me the chance to explore Europe and hunt for beautiful vintage treasures. This year, I’ve especially loved collecting tree stands and vintage ornaments. Whether I find them at Flohmarkts and thrift stores in Germany and France, each piece adds so much charm to our European vintage Christmas style. It’s been such a fun hunt this holiday season and a simple way to make our home feel cozy.

Living Room
The living room is our main hangout space, the spot for Christmas movies, cozy evenings, and relaxing after a long day. It’s also where I bring in most of the color. Warm lights, my little collection of vintage tree toppers, and fun, colorful ribbons all come together to make the space feel fun and festive.

Since I’ve always loved color, I collected vintage ornaments in every shade that caught my eye.

Reading Nook
There’s a cozy little reading nook in our home that’s the perfect corner to relax on your own, curl up with a book, and enjoy a quiet moment, especially during the winter months.

Finnish folklore tells of elves who live in forests, homes, and even saunas—tiny, hidden helpers who care for their surroundings and only reveal themselves if you’re very lucky. I think these Lovi Elves are the cutest!

My collection of vintage German wooden angel and miner candle holders adds a touch of old-world Christmas charm to our home.

Kitchen
This antique oak notary cabinet with double roller doors was a favorite find in Tongeren, Belgium. It fits perfectly in our kitchen, where we use it to store collectibles and set it up as a bar.

We’ve made it a tradition to collect a mug from every European Christmas market we visit, and each one brings back memories of cold nights, warm drinks, and wandering the markets together.

Dining Room
One of my favorite collections since moving to Germany has been vintage portraits of men. They add so much personality, and grouped together, they’ve become a quirky little gallery wall in our dining room. Every guest ends up asking about them! To bring in even more German charm, I added a traditional cuckoo clock and a wooden Weihnachtspyramide for the holidays.

The little tree on the table is filled with small vintage ornaments, giving it a simple but special look.

Thank you for joining me for our Christmas home tour here in Germany. Wherever you’re celebrating this season, I hope your home is filled with warmth, meaningful traditions, and a little holiday magic. These are the moments that make every place feel like home.

Kristen’s Favorite Tradition
Since we move and travel so often, we’ve made it a tradition to pick up a Christmas ornament everywhere we go. Each one reminds us of a place we’ve lived or visited and makes decorating the tree feel extra special.

Absolutely beautiful! I love the mix of dark woods with all the pretty details in the rooms. I have never heard of miner’s candleholders and we do have a collection of things associated with the explosives industry and mining. I’m going to look for those. Kristen, your home is wonderful! You have collected some really great things to keep forever. Merry Christmas!
This is my favorite tour so far. The others have been wonderful to see, and the ones to come will also be amazing, without a doubt, but yours will end up as #1 on my list. The front porch is so cozy, the entryway is so welcoming and leads the way to a real treat for the eye and the heart everywhere you look. That notary cabinet — what perfect find!
We love you all and wish we could visit again to sit in that cozy space to enjoy it all in person. Merry Christmas, with love. Len and Mary Kay
